Got the following note this morning:

"Hi Henry,

I think I finally got it working. It has taken a while, but the last test mail I tried worked, so we'll see if this does. I think what happened when I tried to make the change was the active x control was never installed or something. I didn't receive the prompt the first time I tried and even though I changed things manually, it didn't seem to make a difference. Whatever the problem, I received some spam so I tried a test from my g-mail account and received that, so I'm branching out!"

I responded, but strongly suspect this person has their Fairpoint working.  I am sure there is some little quirk in those that have not gotten their emails back, but hopefully they will be able to contact Fairpoint Support and get the situation corrected.

I am hearing some negative comments on Comcast, so might be wise for Fairpoint Users to not jump from the frying pan into the fire.
