Good Morning, Henry,
Here are some pictures of Mt. Mansfield taken yesterday, from Lower Pleasant Valley Rd. They show the new snowfall of this last week.

Nice Pictures JoAnne,

I am not sure if you are aware?  Some of the antenna towers on Mansfield are going to be taken down this spring.  The tallest one "TV 22" will be taken down, the one on the far left "VT PBS" Will come down as well as I think one more.

When you get back to this area in the spring take a new photo and you will not see as many towers.

Seems to me it would be better just to leave them for future use.  Once they are gone, it will be impossible to permit a replacement.

That does seem odd to just remove them.  How much maintenance is there on a tower with no antenna? Liability reasons, maybe?  I would think that if a tower were available at the top of VT's tallest mountain, it would be snatched up by some other TV or radio station- or maybe even a Wi-Fi company such as Global Net?

I think the towers are being taken down so that the view of the mountain is not ruined.  I personally do not even see the towers anymore.  I just know that they help provide services that I enjoy using.
