Another Way To Look At It

I copy my family on my various news letters that I send out and one I sent out this morning to my IBM Retiree Friends talked about the economy and how fortunate we who are already retired are. My oldest daughter sent me back a note, which goes to show all is not dismal:

"Hi Dad,

I am lucky that I do not have to retire in the next five years or I would be much more tense about our 401ks. What people need to remember in the 401K is that while the market is low their 401k's are buying more shares, so that when the market starts to go up their 401K will go up exponentially. I feel bad for folks in the 58 to 60 yr old range as they were hit hard by this. That's why as you get over 52 you start investing less in stocks and more in the more secure bonds. Gee it won't be long and I will have to start doing that. "
