So. Burlington – Norman P. Stinehour, 90, died Thursday, June 4, 2009 at Birchwood Terrace Healthcare following a long illness.
Norman was born August 13, 1918 in Stoneham, MA, the son of Milton and Anna (Bultken) Stinehour.
Norman married Vivian Willard on Feb 17, 1940 in Middleton, CT. In June of 1944, he joined the U.S. Army during WWII and was assigned to the 119th Regiment of the 30th Division. He fought at the Battle of the Bulge, and continued in battle across Belgium, into Germany and all the way to Berlin. In addition to many other campaign medals, Norman was awarded 3 Bronze Stars and 2 Purple Hearts. After the war, Norman went to work while he completed his college degree in Accounting. After acquiring his degree, he was employed as a hospital accountant and was comptroller at several hospitals.
Norman loved to fresh water and salt water fish. He was a member of the Lion’s Club and was very active with the AARP during the ten years that he and Vivian lived in Florida. He also enjoyed being part of the Masons Lodge 87 in Madison CT. Most of all, Norman was very dedicated to his wife, whom he was married to for 63 years. Vivian predeceased him in 2003.
Norman is survived by his son Norm W. Stinehour and his wife, Joyce Hakey, of Fairfax, VT; his grandchildren Mark Stinehour and wife, Amy, and their children Nick & Ben, of Franklin, MA, Karen Seaman and her husband, John, and their children Jaylin & Zorion of Fairfax, VT, Craig Stinehour and his wife, Megale, of Windsor, CO, and Bryan Stinehour and his wife, Melanie, and their children Chloe & Brady, of Berwick, Maine; and the grandchildren's mother Patricia Stinehour of S. Burlington, VT. He is also survived by his brother, Russell Stinehour, of Ocala, FL; his sisters-in-law, Marian Peterson of Jacksonville, FL and Rita Willard of Shipbottom, NJ; and many nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the family lot in Madison, CT. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Norman P.
