Funeral Home Fire

Firefighters battled a blaze at a funeral home and at least one apartment in Brattleboro Friday night.

The fire started at the Ker-Westerlund and Fleming Funeral Home on High Street. Flames were pouring out of a second floor apartment. That's where most of the damage is. High Street was shut down for a while Friday night because emergency crews feared the blaze could ignite some oxygen tanks and a propane tank. So far, we have no reports of any injuries.

For some reason it hit me funny when they said on the news last night that there were no reports of any injuries.  I wonder how a fireman thinks when they are in the burning funeral home.  Should we save the bodies or the building??
