RAYMOND ERNEST BROOKS ST. ALBANS - Raymond Ernest Brooks, 59, passed away Jan. 19, 2006, in San Diego, Calif., from complications of bone marrow and heart disease. He was born in St. Albans on Dec. 31, 1946, the son of the late Aubert and Frances (Scott) Brooks. Raymond graduated from Bellows Free Academy in Fairfax, Champlain College in Burlington, and the Air Force School in Amarillo, Texas, and was a Vietnam veteran. Survivors include his sister, Gail Brooks Thomas; a half sister, Frances Pontbriand of Winooski; several nieces and nephews; and several friends from New York and California. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Howard W. Brooks. Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 26, in Balboa Park in San Diego, across the street from where he lived. Graveside funeral services and interment will be in the family lot in Greenwood Cemetery this spring at a time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Keith Ungricht, 5010 Garfield St., La Mesa, Calif. 91941, to be used for a plaque for Raymond at the Mount Soledad War Memorial. Arrangements are by the Heald Funeral Home, 87 S. Main St.
