I mentioned a while back that the Gaudette Kids down on the River Road used to come by every Thanksgiving Evening at my house selling Christmas Wreaths - I always made sure to buy my wreaths from them.

In later years after they stopped coming by, I happened upon a lady down in St. Albans who lives in Alburg and parks her car in the KFC Parking Lot at the entrance to the Highgate Shopping Center.  Back then she used to sell her wreaths for $5 and in later years she has been selling them for $8.  It has been a couple of years and she has not been there, however, when I went to the City yesterday, there she was with the wreaths hanging from her car windows.

She and her family used to make the wreaths up in Alburg and starting around Thanksgiving she would come down to St. Albans and sell them.  I used to know her name as my grandparents lived in Alburg where my Mother was born and I still have an Aunt and Cousins that live there.  We had a long conversation in the past, although she did not know my relatives up there.

I was so happy I stopped - The wreaths are not elaborately decorated like those you will find at Minors, J & L or Swansons that are sold at Steeple Market, but she told me she had not been selling wreaths for the past two years and that her husband of 30 years died this past year.  Her daughter suggested to her that she start the wreath making and selling back up, so her daughter is helping her make the wreaths now.  I was going to buy one, but instead bought two.

If you drive by my house, you will see a couple of Christmas Wreaths hung near my front step and you will know the story of the Seller of The Wreaths and it is not only the beauty of the wreaths, but the seller of the wreaths that influences me to buy them.

Emotions are a very important part of many buying decisions.
