Concern about air quality in Burlington has sparked stricter anti-idling laws. The new ordinance reduces the legal idling time from five minutes to three minutes. Exceptions include vehicles with refrigeration units and service vehicles. Violators will face the same fine as an expired parking meter.

Gee, I don't know what an expired parking meter fine is, but if I rode to Burlington with someone today and they left me in the car, it might be worth the fine to stay warm.
