MARVIN C. WILLIAMSON JEFFERSONVILLE — Marvin C. Williamson, 86, passed away Friday, April 14, 2006, in Clark's Residential Care Home in Hyde Park. He was born Nov. 21, 1919, in Colchester, son of the late Raymond C. and Beatrice (Marvin) Williamson. Marvin graduated from Cambridge High School in 1938. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Mount Mansfield 26 of Jeffersonville and Jericho. He served in the Army Air Force from 1941 to 1945 in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre of the war, and was stationed in Australia and New Guinea. After returning home, he worked as a postal mail carrier and a mechanic in Jeffersonville, and was employed by Notifier Security Systems out of Williston for many years and Swartz Security Systems in Fort Worth, Texa, until his retirement. Marvin researched the records of the men and women from the town of Cambridge who served their country in the Armed Forces in World War II. He used this information for the plaque that was placed at the War Memorial in Jeffersonville in 2001. He is survived by his wife, Arlie (Nolan) Williamson of Jeffersonville; one son, Larry Williamson of Jeffersonville; and daughter Lois Riegert and husband Larry of Milton; stepsons Gary Nolan and partner Shelley Miller of Morrisville, Dale Nolan of Hyde Park, Mark Nolan and his wife Marilyn of Burlington; and a stepdaughter, Judy Blaisdell and husband Mark of Cambridge; 14 stepgrandchildren and 12 stepgreat-grandchildren; his brother, Clayton, and wife Mary Lou Williamson of Florida and Fletcher; one sister, Naida Fink of Bedford, Texas; as well as many nieces and nephews; and Mary Williamson, mother of his children, of Burlington. He was also predeceased by his stepmother, Phyllis Williamson; brother, Stanley “Joe“ Williamson; a sister-in-law, Mary Williamson and a brother-in-law, Victor Fink. A memorial service will be held at 12 noon Wednesday, April 26, in the Second Congregational Church in Jeffersonville. Visiting hours will be from 11 a.m. to the hour of the service. Inurnment will follow in the family lot in Fairfax Plains Cemetery, Fairfax.
