Vermont State Police investigators will resume their search today for the remains of a Westford women.
Troopers will focus on a trail behind Westford Elementary School where they believe the remains of 78-year old Mary Wilcox were dumped.
Police say her daughter, 59-year-old Jeanne Sevigny, shot and killed Wilcox at their house in November of 2006 and then burned her body. Then police say Sevigny's son Greg got rid of the remains.
Police now say they have the gun allegedly used to kill Wilcox.
The search was suspended in December because of cold weather. Sevigny is now free on bail after pleading not guilty to second-degree murder. She claims she can't remember whether she or her mother pulled the trigger.

If it is snowing in Westford, like it is here in Fairfax, wouldn't be at all surprised if they cancel the search, although I did hear they would like to do as much as possible while the kids are out of school this week.

Today's search for the remains of Mary Wilcox, conducted by the Vermont State Police, were unsuccessful.  Today's search focused on utilizing cadaver dogs from the Connecticut State Police.  Future searches will resume at a date, yet to be determined.   These searches will be conducted in coordination with Westford Elementary School Officials.  The Vermont State Police wish to extend our appreciation to the Westford Elementary School and the Connecticut State Police for their assistance in this on-going investigation.  A press advisory will be issued when future searches resume.
