Was watching some home movies late last night and heard what sounded like one of our Fairfax Personnel come over the scanner and say that someone had hit a Moose near the Lamoille River Bridge and the Moose was dead and in the middle of the road.  I made the assumption that they were talking about the bridge near The Steeple Market, but now know I was wrong.  Good thing I didn't put that up on the forum.

It was near the Lamoille River Bridge, but on I89 - Seems like a lot of Moose around.  WPTZ has a short blip on it.  Heard the guy who reported it say that the person was not hurt and was alone in the car.

Of course we don't have Moose running rampant like Mike Raburn does up in his back yard - Don't know the plural of Mooses:

I am too stoopid to link anymore.

Every time I try I mess something up.

Lets see if I get it right here, for the rest.

When I was coming back from the store I saw neighbors in the road and I thought the hubbub was a bear passing through again.

Actually I'd rather have a bear pass through than a new Mom and two babies.
Bears are less dangerous solo!!

The moose completely blocked the right lane and was impossible to see until you were within about 100' due to cars parked beyond it.  The only clue to something being in the road was some broken glass reflecting on the ground just before him.  I think I should start carrying some flares in my car.

Now I know why I thought I recognized that voice reporting the Moose/Car accident.

One other thing I think I should say.  Dean and Justin decided that we all will wear reflective traffic vests over our fire gear.  I was not a big fan of the vest, I felt it got in the way of the rest of the stuff we wear.  I take back everything I said about those vests.  If I didn't have mine with me I'd bet money that moose would have been hit again.
