FRANCIS L. HALL WESTFORD — Francis L. Hall, 85, of Woods Hollow Road, died Monday Evening June 26, 2006, in the presence of his loving family in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. Francis was born March 10, 1921, in Johnson, the son of the late E. Chester and Eva M. Macomber Hall. He graduated from Bellows Free Academy in Fairfax with the Class of 1939. On June 26, 1940, he married Bertha Phelps of Westford. The two of them had various jobs until 1952, when they purchased their own farm in Westford. During 57 years of marriage, they raised their family of six children, who survive them: Beverly Hall of Westford; Lois Jerome and her husband, Clark, of Fletcher; Alice Giroux and her husband, Bob, of Westford; Raymond Hall and his wife, Bonnie, of Westford, James Hall and his wife, Claire, of Milton; and Frank Hall and his wife, Julie, of Fletcher. Francis also leaves 22 grandchildren, Malcolm, Michael, Mark, Christopher, Clarke, Bobby, Shaun, Tracy, Marie, Michelle, Robby, Jeremy, Alissa, Ben, Ryan, Sam, Kianna, Kylee, Timeka, Amanda, Casey and Doug. He also leaves his 14 great-grandchildren, all of whom he thought the world of. Francis is also survived by his sister, Emily Packard of Essex Center. In his retirement years, he was a member of the Northeast Fiddlers Association and the Champlain Valley Fiddlers Club. He enjoyed going to farm auctions and visiting with neighbors and friends. He had a real love of life and family. Most of all he enjoyed attending family gatherings. He loved seeing his entire family doing things together and staying close. There will be a huge emptiness in our hearts without him. He is so sadly missed and will be forever loved by his family. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Bertha Phelps Hall, on December 25, 1997; his brother,Walt Hall; his sister, Barbara Rogers; and a very special grandson, Kenny Jerome. Visiting hours will be held today from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Minor Funeral Home, Route 7, Milton. Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the United Church of Westford. Burial will follow in the East Cemetery in Williston. Contributions may be made to the Educational Fund being established for his great-granddaughter, Kaitlin Jerome, in care of Alice Giroux, 80 Rollin Irish Road, Westford, Vt. 05494.
