This Date in Fairfax History
September 6, 2003

For the first time since the early days of Bellows Free Academy, organized football returned to Fairfax.
The Fairfax Youth Football Team, the Fairfax Patriots, had their first game on what would be called McNall Field. It was located at the north corner of the intersection of Rt. 128/McNall Road. A converted cornfield, it also was called, The Field of Dreams. The success of the youth teams gave birth to return of Varsity football at BFA.
The original field ran parallel to Rt. 128. When Varsity football returned, a regulation field was set up perpendicular to the original field, allowing the original field to be used for practice and game day parking.

And it's been amazing ever since. A few former BFA Football players have gone on to play in college (where it was available to them) and the team has become a team to be reckoned with in its division in only a few short years. Something to be proud of for the entire town!  :-)

They really stepped out on nothing and came up with something. :-)

The Patriots kicked off and scored on the opening play when Charlie Tymon stripped the ball from the returner !
