MADALENE MARY TEAGUE LEMNAHST. ALBANS - Madalene Mary Teague Lemnah, 86, of St. Albans, formerly of Newport, passed away Sept. 7, 2010 in Burlington after a short illness. She was able to remain with us until her son, Mark, returned from Afghanistan. She was born May 6, 1924 in Fairfield, a daughter of Benjamin and Iva Pearl (Boomhower) Teague. She graduated in 1942 from Cathedral High School and prior to her marriage, she was employed by Bell Telephone. She married Carlton F. Lemnah of Farifield at St. Patrick's Church in Fairfield on Oct. 5, 1950. She and her late husband moved to Newport in 1959 and she became very active within the community. Madalene was a long time 4-H Leader and taught sewing to many young 4-Hers. Many a local member will have fond memories of the lessons they learned. She is survived by her children, Thomas Lemnah of St. Albans, Mark Lemnah and his wife, Francine, of Westford, Carla LemnahWarner and her husband, James, of Westfield, Mass., Judith Hayes and her husband, C. Steven, of Fairfax; her grandson, Derrick Lemnah and Melanie Bouchard and their son, Stewart John Lemnah and her daughters, Abbie and Madison; by her granddaughter, Renee Welchman and her husband, Kyle, and their daughter, Emma; by her granddaughter, Katie Warner and her friend, Eric McCutcheon, of Westfield, Mass.; and by her granddaughter, Emily Warner of South Woodbury and her friend, Ben Roy; and by her granddaughters, Mattie and Morgan Hayes of Fairfax and Jeffersonville; and by her grandson, Dustin Hayes of Fairfax. She also leaves her sisters, Elizabeth Hatch of Belfast, ME, and Ann Hale of East Hartford, Conn.; and close sisters-in-law, Polly Cosgrove, Rosalie Teague, Marion Reynolds, Ruth Lemnah; and by her brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Marlene Lemnah; and by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Nancy Lemnah; sister and brother-in-law, Robert and Helen Teague; and by two brothers, Raymond Teague and Thomas Cosgrove. Madalene will be sorely missed by her close friends and Gricebrook Community Members, and everyone at the St. Albans Senior Center, and especially her card circle. To all that had the pleasure of knowing her, she was known for her generosity and kindness, but most especially for her love. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010 at the Brady and Levesque Funeral Home, 86 South Main Street, St. Albans. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 13, 2010 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fairfield with the Rev. Leonidas Laroche celebrating a Mass of Christian Burial.
