RICHARD DAVIS HOWELL III

Richard “Rik” D. Howell III, 30, was called to be with our Lord on Aug. 19, 2006. He was born in Clarksville, Tenn. on May 26, 1976, to Richard Howell Jr. and Cynthia Taylor Ranks.

He is survived by his loving mother, Cynthia Ranks, and stepfather, Daniel Ranks of Fairfax, Vt.; his father, Richard D. Howell Jr. of Clarksville, Tenn.; and the loves of his life, his two beautiful daughters, Ilana and Darci Howell; his sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Kris Leader, and their sons Matthew and Brandon Leader of Montana; his maternal grandmother, Margaret Bero of St. Albans, Vt.; paternal grandparents, Richard Sr. and Molly Howell of Clarksville, Tenn.; his uncle Carlyle Poole; and several cousins of Tennessee.

He also leaves behind many aunts and uncles from Vermont: Stephen M. Taylor, Marie & Francis Putnam, Sheila & Larry Snaith Sr., Priscilla & Stanley Putnam, Edwina & Joe Leclair, Rosemary & Stewart Barrows, Joann & Bill Gordon, Robin & Mike Pepin and also Jim & Ann Nutting of Florida.

He was predeceased by his grandfather Edward L. Taylor; aunt Barbara and her son, Christopher Coon; cousins, Kevin M. Jerry and James Nutting and aunt Kitty Poole.

A funeral was held on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006, at Sykes Funeral Home in Clarksville, Tenn., assisted by Brady & Levesque Funeral Home and Commemorative Services of St. Albans, Vt.

Our love and prayers go with you “Bucky.” With all our love to a very special young man who God called home much too soon.

The family wishes to thank everyone who helped us through this difficult time.
