Just checked out the Moose Hunting Lottery to see if anybody from Fairfax was on it and sure enough, there was Jim Meunier's name.  There was also another Fairfax Resident, Jacob Yetto.  Click on the following link if you wish to check all the winners:

I just read this, and walked into my bedroom, and saw velvety antlers outside the window!  I ran for the camera...and here's the moose I shot...

Terrific Video of the young Bull Moose ( 3-4 years old maybe ? ) . Aren't they a curious animal ??  Good thing he treated the scene as an afternoon stroll rather an area where he was in danger . Even at that size , he could much damage . Good job , Suzy for staying with him  !!!
In the summer of 1994 , after I retired , I entered the lottery and was awarded a permit for a Bull ( I understand that this year permits are for either sex ) , but I got so many phone calls and ran into such grief from non-hunters that I returned the permit . The hunt wasn't popular then , but it's extremely necessary now .
Enjoy the experience and good luck  , Jim

I was easy to keep up with...I just went out the front door, and then out the back door!

Here's two massive bulls I watched in Grand Teton National Park the other day....they are HUGE...They are so big, someone said, "Oh look!  One of them is pregnant!"  hooo boy!

These are probably more the size the hunters are hoping for....

Suz,

Those are not massive bulls.

Those are BEASTS!! WOW!
Pretty animals.

Get your adjectives in order!

PS, nice music with the video!!!
