Richard F. Wells
March 9, 1942 - December 13, 2011
Richard F. Wells, 69, of Underhill, passed away Dec. 13, 2011, at his home following a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in East Fairfield, Vt. on March 9, 1942, the son of Aldolph and Harriett (Minor) Wells. Richard married Rita Hebert on Oct. 3, 1964. Richard was employed by the towns of Underhill and Jericho for 37 years, and was road foreman with the town of Underhill for 15 years. He retired in 2004.

He is survived by his wife, Rita; daughter, Lisa Hill and husband Robert, of Underhill; daughter Lori Goodyear of Cambridge; and son Kevin Wells and partner Jill Montgomery of Waterbury Center. He leaves seven grandchildren, Morgan and Erica Goodyear, Brandon and Ashley Wells, and Jessica, Brianna and Alissa Hill. He thought the world of his grandchildren.

He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Patrick Wells and wife Melody of Jericho, Virginia St. Hilaire of Milton; Marilyn Bame and husband Tim of Milton, Eugene Wells of Fairfield, Cedric Wells and wife Laura of Underhill, Priscilla Burnor of Underhill, and Aldolph Wells of Underhill; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and Brent Urie, Lori's late partner.

Richard will be deeply mourned by his family and will always be remembered for his dedication to his family and road work.

Special thanks to Bayada Hospice Services, especially Brenda and Hannah.

There will be a service on Monday, Dec. 19 at St. Thomas Church in Underhill Center at 2 p.m. A reception will follow in the church basement.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Essex Rescue Inc. 1 Educational Drive, Essex Junction, VT. 05452.

The Minor Funeral and Cremation Center of Milton is in charge of the arrangements.
