Library seeks sponsors for Summer Reading Bike Incentives

Would you like a great way to support literacy, the library and the young readers of our community?

The library has for many years given away two really nice youth bicycles (purchased at Earl's, who gives us a discount) as the grand prize for our summer Reading Challenge.  For seven or eight years, a generous Fairfax patron has donated the funds for one of the bikes.  Unfortunately he can no longer do this, so we are looking for a new sponsor - individual or business - to help us motivate young readers this summer.

This program has been highly successful!  In 2011, 195 children and young adults participated and they read 2,414 books!
