Hi All,

Laura George sent me the following note and asked if I would put it up on my forum:

Come celebrate the Irish in you. FolKids of Vermont is hosting an Irish Dinner on March 10th from 4pm-730pm at the Baptist Building in Fairfax. We will be serving a traditional Irish meal, there will be live music, Irish dancers and your local FolKids will perform through out the evening. This is a fun non-alcoholic event for the whole family.

Adults $15, Children under 12 $10, Senior Citizens $10, Family of 4 $40 ($10 each additional member)

Please call Laura at 527-5092 for reservations or for more information.

If anyone knows any of the local FolKids performing and no one object to their names on the forum, send me a note and I will add to the notice.

HI Henry,

Thanks so much!

The local kids are my daughter-Michaela George, grade 7, Patrick Bigelow, grade 7, Sarah Bigelow grade 9, Sarah Zelley, grade 6, Miranda Boucher, grade 5, Alyssa Wheel, grade 7, and Morgan Lovell, grade 6. We also have some children from Chittenden County.

We are raising money to go on a performing trip to Japan during April vacation and the week following vacation. We perform traditional New England dances such as the Virginia Reel to live music. We wear costumes from the late 1800’s time period. We will be staying with 2 different host groups while on tour. We will perform at local schools, senior centers, 2 large festivals and other community events. The children have been practicing since October and the families have done a variety of fundraising events.

Some of the other fundraising events are:

*A Rummage Sale on March 17th in the Middle School Gym, 9a-4p.

*Selling Dutch Garden Flower Bulbs. People can contact me (Laura George) about that as well.

If you want any more information about the FolKids, our fundraising events or the trip please let me know!

Laura
