VICTIM: Various AGE: Various CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Lake Street Panton, VT
SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: Vermont State Police are investigating the report of seven various complaints to include suspicious vehicle complaints, three burglary complaints (nothing was stolen), and a petit larceny case in the area of Lake Street & Arnold Bay Road in The Town of Panton. The incidents have occurred between June 1, 2012 and June 27, 2012. On June 25, 2012 Troopers from The New Haven State Police Barracks met with citizens in the Town of Panton for a Community Advisory Meeting. The citizens were advised of the various complaints, were provided advice as to how to safeguard their properties, and how to be vigilant to the recent suspicious activity and crime.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Game Cameras: ***Citizens asked questions about game cameras and the effectiveness of them to capture criminal activity or suspects involved in criminal activity. The Citizens were advised that the use of game cameras was a great tool. Many of them advised they would be purchasing them in an attempt to obtain evidence concerning the criminal incidents*** ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Local residents have observed at least one suspicious vehicle in the area. The reported truck is dark in color with a wood or panel bed on it, possibly with a rack in the bed extending over the cab area and a yellow light on top.
**Troopers would like the public to know that the Panton community will be utilizing game cameras to assist in catching those involved with these crimes.
