For the past 50 years or more I have had the pleasure of calling Ron and Theresa Gross my neighbors. During this time our kids have grown up together and Maryann and Theresa would do things together, such as go to the fair with them while Ron and I were working, or their kids would come up to the Pond when we were camping. Ron & Theresa were people who were the first ones there when any type of crisis arose, to lend their support in whatever way they could, as many people here in the area will attest to. Ron, of course, was a great gardener and was always willing to share some of his prize winning tomatoes with us. Ron and Theresa were the typical Vermont Neighbors. We visited back and forth occasionally, but there was one thing for sure, they were there immediately without being asked, whenever there were problems.
I certainly will miss them, giving my usual glance as I went by to check and see what they might be up to, as I noticed different changes in scenery in the yard or activities going on. After 53 years of marriage, Ron and Theresa have decided they are now eligible to live in a 55+ housing complex in Essex Junction and Theresa told me on Sunday that they had spent the last two nights in their new home. We will miss you here Ron & Theresa, but know that our loss will be the gain of the new friends you will make in your new home. Stop in any time, I will definitely miss you and always be glad to see you:
