Benjamin A. Young

Fairfax - Benjamin Austin Young, 93 a lifelong resident of Fairfax and retired farmer  passed away at Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans on Thursday October 11, 2012.  He was born in Fairfield, VT on March 29, 1919 son of the late William Joseph and Clyda Mae (Austin) Young.  Ben was a charter member of the Fairfax Fire Department dedicating 20 years of services.  He had also been a local school bus driver for 32 years.  Ben will be missed by all those who had the true pleasure to know and love him.

He is survived by two sons Lawrence Young and wife Barbara of Fairfax; Robert Young and wife Marlene Tillery of Fletcher; a daughter Barbara Young of Fairfax; special sister-in-law Ruth Burleson of Fairfax; sister Beverly Lahane and husband Eugene of Hinsdale, NH;  ten grandchildren, thirteen great grand children; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ben is also predeceased by his wife Theresa, daughter Sandra Zeno, two brothers George and William, four sisters Luna Wilkins, Martha Benjamin, Audrey Moore and Ina Gilson.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the special and loving staff of the Redstone Villa including Heather, Cindy, Amanda, Debbie, Renee, Penny and Haley.

Per Ben’s wishes there will be no visiting hours held.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday October 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke Church in Fairfax and concelebrated by Reverend John Feltz and Reverend Soosai Raj.  Burial will follow in the family lot in St. Luke Cemetery.  Memorial contributions in Ben’s memory may be made to Fairfax Volunteer Fire Department, P.O.
