Following his retirement he worked for Champlain College in the safety and security department. Ed looked forward to a good match of either golf or pool. He enjoyed watching and playing baseball and passed on the love of the game to all by introducing the sport to his daughter, son and grandchildren. He even belonged to the Fantasy Baseball League. Ed loved spending quality time with his grandchildren, who called him “Grandpa Ed.“ Special times were spent playing baseball with Wil, especially the dodge ball version. He was excited about his daughter's upcoming wedding in May 2008. He was a member of the NRA, the American Legion of St. Albans, Green Mountain Post 1, and in 2005 joined the Loyal Order of the Moose. Ed will be greatly missed by all those who had the true pleasure to have known and loved him. He is survived by his son, Edward Gray and his wife Karen and their children Wil and Payton of Suwanee, Ga.; his daughter, Sara Billado and fiance Dan White of King of Prussia, Pa.; his brother, Reginald Billado of Maine; his sister, Ardis Meunier of Fairfax; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by his brother, Jerry Billado, and sister, Shirley Shafer. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, April 10, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the A. W. Rich Funeral Home - Fairfax Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 11, at 11 a.m. with full military services in the United Church of Fairfax with the Rev. Elizabeth Griffin officiating.
