FAIRFAX - A Sunday accident in Fairfax on Route 104 was caused when a driver fell asleep at the wheel, crossed the center line and struck another vehicle, said Vermont State Police.

Michele Lippay; 45, of Fairfax, has not been charged with any violations regarding the accident, which sent two people to the hospital. Lippay's Jeep struck a car driven by Steve Prim, 55, of St. Albans, shortly-after noon on Sunday. Prim's car then left the road, striking a telephone pole, according to Vermont State Trooper Lucas Hall. Prim was taken to Northwestern Medical Center, treated and released. According to state police, his unnamed passenger was in stable condition on Sunday.
