Fairfax - Marjorie Ella (Cadreact) Cleveland, 89, passed away at Green Mountain Nursing Home in Colchester on Tuesday March 26, 2013. She was born in Milton on September 24, 1923, daughter of the late Harold and Rosanna (Smith) Cadreact, Sr.
Marjorie spent her adult life as a teacher who loved her students and helped them succeed each in their own way. She was an avid quilter and gardener. Marjorie believed strongly in giving back to her community and demonstrated this by volunteering in many areas. Her favorite times were those spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. When you read this give a child a hug or a minute of your time in her honor.
She is survived by her two sons: Merrill Cleveland and his wife Marion of Lyndonville; Larry Cleveland and his wife LuJayne of Counce, TN; a daughter Lynn Dawson of Fairfax; her brother David Cadreact and wife Kate of Milton; her sisters Phyllis Viets of Florida; Claire Truso and her husband Louis of Richmond; six grandchildren: Jeff Cleveland; Tina Thresher and her husband Jeff; Ashley Cleveland and her husband Jesse Fraser; Jason Derner and his fiancé Allison Schlageter; Joshua Derner and his wife Barbara Hamel Derner; Alyssa Dawson; seven great grandchildren: Michael, Christopher, Erin, Avery, Georgianna, Alexander, and Dylan; several nieces, nephews; a brother in law Robert Ellis of Georgia; a sister in law Eleanor Cadreact of Milton; Doris Millard of Fairfax.
She was predeceased by her husband Glen Cleveland, a sister Shirley Cadreact, a brother Harold Cadreact Jr., a brother in law William Viets, and a son in law, Keith Dawson.
Visiting hours will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at A. W. Rich Funeral Home – Fairfax Chapel, 1176 Main Street, Fairfax, VT on Tuesday April 2, 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday April 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke Church in Fairfax with the Reverend Soosai Raj officiating. Burial will be held in the spring in the family lot in Georgia Plains Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Marjorie’s memory may be made to the Alzheimers Assoc.
