Shirley M. (Perrotte) BaillargeonUnderhill - Shirley Mae (Perrotte) Baillargeon, 88, passed away on Saturday July 20, 2013 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. Shirley was born on December 7, 1924 in Burlington, VT daughter of the late Sidney and Loretta (Simard) Perrotte. She was married for nearly 67 years to the love of her life Ernest Baillargeon who predeceased her on June 3, 2010.
We will deeply miss our “Precious Momma Bird” with her sweet, gentle smile and sharing the love of Jesus in her heart with those around her. She was deeply devoted to our dad especially caring for him in his old age, teaching us about Jesus and saying prayers at night while kissing our foreheads with a blessing of “Sleep with God’s Angels” was very important to her. Mom gave of her time and talents by knitting mittens, sweaters, slippers, etc., cooking delicious stuffed peppers and yummy donuts, sewing quilts plus embroidering and crocheting beautiful pieces for our family. She was very
artistic and especially loved creating watercolor cards for her great grandchildren and
family. She was very involved in the church of St. Mary’s teaching children’s catechism,
involved in the “Fishers of Men” program and C.C.D. She is very happy now in Heaven
dancing with Jesus and her Ernie.
Shirley is survived by her three daughters: Sue Anne Marie Ward of Essex Jct.; Janet Marriott and husband John of Fairfax; Mary Chicoine and husband Lawrence of Underhill; her brother Donald Martell of Burlington; two sisters Francois Morriseau of Burlington; Marylin Daudelin of Burlington; 10 grandchildren: Jeremy; Jason; Jonathan; James; Jennifer; Joseph; John Paul; Joanne; Scott; Michele; 14 great grandchildren: Kelsie; Caleigh; Isabella; Isaac; Logan; Brandon; Joshua; Gabriella Mae; Jackson; Adam; Joshua; Athena; Katie and Carter.
She was also predeceased by her siblings Paul, Roger, George, Pauletta, Janet, Roland, Geraldine and on October 19, 2003 her grandson Andrew W. Chicoine.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday July 24, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at A. W. Rich Funeral Home – Fairfax Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday July 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cambridge with Fr. Rick Danielson, officiating. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
