Claire Denise Bonneau
(March 11, 1923 - February 12, 2014)


Fairfax – Claire Denise Bonneau wife of the late Andrew “Andy” Bonneau passed away peacefully early Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at the Homestead surrounded by her loving family.

Born on March 11, 1923, in St. Alphonse de Granby, Quebec, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Delida (Parent) Fortin. Claire was 90 years old.

Claire and Andrew were married on April 22, 1946, at St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Shelburne, Vermont by the late Monsignor William J. Cain.

She is survived by her two daughters, Janet Bonneau & her husband, Dana Howard, of Fairfax, and Diane Hocker & partner, Bill Cohen of New Hampshire; her grandchildren, Elizabeth & Rick George, Jocelyn Reighley & partner, Salvador Dominguez, Emily Hocker, Katherine & Robert Barnard, Diana & Evan Harper, Alice Reighley and Elizabeth Reighley as well as five great-grandchildren; Carter & Meg George, Noe & Gabriel Dominguez and Robert Barnard, IV.

In addition to her parents, Claire was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew on April 29, 2010, and her son, Mark A. Bonneau on March 22, 2011.

Claire will be most remembered for her gentle and loving nature. Her cooking skills are legendary among family and friends, and many people have sat at her table and enjoyed her love of conversation and friendship. She is now reunited with Andy, the love of her life.

There will be no public visitation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 21, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 245 Lake Street, St. Albans. The Reverend Maurice J. Roy will be the celebrant. Private interment will be in Resurrection Park Cemetery at a later date. Assisting the Bonneau family is Rett Heald and the staff of the Heald Funeral Home, where messages of condolence are welcome at www.healdfuneralhome.com
