Roger Dreher Roger Dreher was born in Orange, New Jersey on September 9th, 1955 to the late Gordon and Elanor (Dickinson) Dreher. He left behind a wife, Emily Tyl, and two daughters, Kate and Annie Dreher. He passed away on June 1st, 2014 in a car accident.
Roger loved to be with his family, whether it was his biological family or anyone else who was close to him. He was always very present in, not only our lives, but the lives of the students he was involved with at his job in Fletcher Elementary School. The quality of life for the people around him was always the most important thing to him. He always would go above and beyond to help any student and was happy to do it. There's nothing he loved more than solving somebody's problem or fixing something else around the house. He would spend hours working on the car or out in the barn and come back inside covered in muck and grinning from ear to ear. There was never a problem he couldn't solve, if given enough time to tinker with it. He was always there to laugh or cry or just listen with his friends and family.
Roger said just a few days before he passed, that he thought he was the luckiest guy in the world. When mourning him, remember the good things and the happy moments in his life, because that's what he would have wanted, and he wouldn't have wanted anyone to be saddened by his passing.
Roger is also survived by a brother in law, Sandy Levine and two nephews, Adam and Derek Levine. He was also predeceased by his sister Ellen Levine.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday June 7, 2014 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Fletcher Elementary School in Fletcher. Memorial contributions in Roger’s memory may be made to the American Red Cross, Vermont and the New Hampshire Upper Valley, 29 Mansfield Ave., Burlington, VT 05401 www.redcross.org/vt/burlington.
