In memoriam of Connor Jeffrey "Cheech" Roberts, 06/10/1993 - 06/17/2014

St. Albans – Connor Jeffrey “Cheech” Roberts passed away suddenly Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at the Northwestern Medical Center with his loving family at his side.

Born on June 10, 1993, in St. Albans, he was the son of Jeffrey Roberts and Peggy (Singer) Roberts. Connor just turned 21.

Connor was a 2012 graduate of Bellows Free Academy, where he was captain of the Football and Lacrosse teams and was a member of the 2012 State Champion Hockey Team. At the time of his death he had just completed his sophomore year at Norwich University, where he was majoring in Engineering Management and played football and lacrosse. During his sporting career he was number “9”.

Connor loved life, was loved by others and touched many lives in his short 21 years. His smile was contagious and could been seen from a mile away. All who knew him continually recognized Connor’s selflessness. He always lived life to the fullest without regret. Recently, Connor had spent the past few summer’s working in Georgia overlooking the lake with his dear friend Jimmy Poquette. He often talked about his future of one day owning the land.

In his early years, he was active with the Steeler football program, SASA Hockey, Phantom Lacrosse and Glades Hockey. Connor is the type of player and teammate that was a leader and always put the team ahead of him and was looked at as a leader by younger players growing up in the league. He enjoyed fishing, working on his car, playing x-box, napping on any couch he could find hanging out with his friends and family and especially with his niece Evelyn, or as he called her, “Twerp”.

Survivors include his parents, Jeff and Peggy, his brother, Benjamin Roberts and his companion, Gabrielle Sikora, of St. Albans; his two sisters, Courtney Leduc and her husband, Jeremy, and Danielle Roberts and her companion, Eileen Coyne, all of St. Albans; his niece Evelyn, and his grandparents, Patricia Singer and her companion, Terry Willis, of Bradenton, FL; William Michael and Mary Singer of Owensboro, KY, Joan and Ronald Ducolon of Swanton and Ronald and Barbara Roberts of Marianna, Fl , great grand parents Donald and Betty DesLauriers of St. Albans as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Connor is also survived by countless friends near and far. His canine companions Lexey and Buck and his feline companion, Piper.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, June 22, 2014, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 23rd at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Angels Church, 245 Lake Street, St. Albans. Interment will follow in the family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Connor Roberts Memorial Fund for Lacrosse, c/o Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans, VT 05478. Messages of condolence to Connor’s family are welcome at www.healdfuneralhome.com.

WOW only the good die young, so sad.

A veteran is someone who, at one
point in his life, wrote a blank check
made payable to 'The United States of
America ' for an amount of 'up to and including My life.'
