George & Phyllis camped for many summers up at Metcalf Pond in a small camp near the Public Beach:

MILTON, Vt./MELBOURNE, Fla. -- George Bushey, 80, of Milton, Vt., and Melbourne, Fla., passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

George was born in Cambridge, Vt., on Feb. 8, 1935. On Oct. 31, 1959, George was married to his loving wife, Phyllis J. Villeneuve of Cambridge. George was in the Navy and was on the U.S.S. Constitution. He was later employed by Vermont Transit Bus Lines as a bus driver for 35 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobile trips to Canada with his son and two brothers, playing golf, poker night at AppleTree Bay Resort, shuffle board, going to various casinos to gamble, mowing the lawn with his John Deer Tractor, playing tail gate toss with family and friends, and Saturday night movie nights and dinner with his son, Mark.

George was predeceased by his parents, Cecile Parent Bushey and Fred Bushey; brothers, Bernard Bushey and Hector Bushey; sister, Alene Gentry; brother-in-law, Richard Gentry; mother-in-law, Clara Cross Villeneuve; and father-in-law, Wilfred Villeneuve.

George is survived by his wife of 55 years, Phyllis Bushey of Milton; son, Mark Bushey of Milton; son, Craig Bushey of Houston, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Emile and Ann Bushey of Brooksville, Fla.; brother and sister-in-law, Homer and Pauline Bushey of Essex Junction; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Eugene and Mary Villeneuve of Jeffersonville; brother-in-law, Dalton Villeneuve of Milton; sister-in-law, Judy Bushey of Waterville; and several nieces and nephews.

The immediate family would like to offer a special thanks to all of the wonderful staff at the University of Vermont Medical Center and the Franklin County Health and Rehabilitation Center.

There will be no calling hours. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. A celebration of George's life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Stephen C. Gregory & Son Cremation Service, South Burlington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Camp Ta-Kum-Ta, 77 Sunset View Road; PO Box 459, South Hero, VT 05486.

I have so many wonderful memories of getting up early in the morning and go fishing with George and his son Mark at Metcalf Pond.  He spoiled me as like my dad and would take the fish off for me.  Prayers to the family.

"Life is too short, so love the one you got!"
