FAIRFAX — Janice Ruth Rocheleau a longtime resident of this area passed away early Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, at the Northwestern Medical Center with her family at her side.
Born in Montreal, Quebec on July 8, 1950, she was the daughter of Stanley H. and Betty (Benoit) Irving. Janice was 65 years old.
Janice was a 1968 graduate of Bellows Free Academy in St. Albans and continued her education at Champlain College. For many years she worked in the office of Dr. Henry Wirts and then for the past 20 plus years has been a para-educator at Bellows Free Academy in Fairfax. She was a long time member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in St. Albans where her father was a pastor.
Survivors include her parents Stanley and Betty of Georgia; her husband, Steven, of Fairfax; their children, Michael and his wife, Janine, of St. Albans and Kristin O’Grady of Highgate as well as her grandchildren, Ella, Avery and Wade.
Janice is also survived by her brother, Stephen Irving and his wife, Jeanene, of Georgia and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Dec. 16, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, corner of Fairfield and Church Streets in St. Albans. Following the service there will be a reception at Saint Paul’s Methodist Church. There will be no public visitation.
