Gilbert Charles “Gil” Paquin
Fairfax- Gilbert Charles Paquin, “Gil”, passed away unexpectedly at his family farm on Friday, September 14, 2007. He was born in St. Albans on May 18, 1963, the son of Clinton and Pauline (Plante) Paquin. He graduated from Bellows Free Academy in St. Albans in 1981 and Champlain College in 1983. Gil served a number of years as Finance Manager at Burt Paquin Ford. He recently renewed his real estate license, and continued serving as a realtor for Cioffi Prudential Realty, and had several clients in the local area.
Although he was a born and bred businessman, Gil’s true passion was working in the woods on “Pleasant Acres”, the family farm. With close friends and family supporting him, he established Frosty Hill Maple Products and looked forward to being in the sugar woods and handing out samples of his warm syrup. He could be found riding around the fields on his 4-wheeler, hanging out with his dad in their barn, or relaxing, and enjoying a cold beer with his family.
Gil was a man of many talents, which he used toward one purpose; to give his family security, knowledge and love. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, and his eternal sweetheart, Maria, “Ri”, his daughter and “Mini-Me”, Beth Anne and her fiancé, Gil’s “partner in crime”, James St. Pierre, and Gil’s pride and joy, his son, Dylan. He also leaves his parents, Clinton and Pauline Paquin of St. Albans, his two big sisters and their spouses, Kathleen and Jay Guertin of Fairfax and Emily and Rett Heald of St. Albans, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe and Ginny Mammone, his sister-in-law and her husband, Leigh and Kevin Gross, as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Although his time with us was cut too short, he will live forever in the hearts of countless family and friends, especially the Clokeys, Boissoneaults and the Rainvilles.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2007, at 11:00 A.M. at Gilbert’s home on the Fletcher Road, three miles from Fairfax Village. Interment will be private in the new family lot in Fairfax Plains Cemetery. There will be no public visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Fairfax Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 428, Fairfax, Vermont 05454. As Gilbert was a dedicated and baptized Jehovah’s Witness, a memorial service will take place at a later date at The Kingdom Hall in Jeffersonville. The Heald Funeral Home of St. Albans is assisting Gilbert’s family with arrangements. Condolences and memories may be sent to the family through

Note:
Maria has asked me to post the following regarding Gil Paquin's Funeral as some people were confused about what was public and what was private:
1) the service in the field at 11am Wednesday is open to the public
2) the family will leave for a private internment, however folks are welcome to stay for food/beverage and we’ll be back to join them
3) if people want alcoholic beverages they must bring their own, it will not be provided.
If anyone has any questions, please feel free to send me a note
