In earlier years, Diane lived here in Fairfax with her parents.  Her father Chauncy worked for the Power Company and they lived at Fairfax Falls.

Diane L. (Thomas) Langdell

Waterville - Diane Lee (Thomas) Langdell, 66 passed away at Copley Hospital in Morrisville Thursday October 11, 2007.  She was born on May 2, 1941 in St. Albans, VT daughter of the late Chauncy and Debrah (Dow) Thomas.  She married Everett Langdell on June 14, 1957 in Hyde Park, VT.  She had been employed as a chef with Maple Grove Rest Home.  Diane was a very committed wife, mother and grandmother.  Her passion was in making quilts for her family and close friends.  She also made sure that every family member received a lovingly sewed and stitched Raggedy Ann and Andy Doll.  Diane often thought of others and this showed through her passion for quilting.  She was especially proud of the American Flag quilt that she made and then donated to a fund raiser to help her grandchild’s school in Oregon.  Her heart went out to others unconditionally whether sewing neck warmers for the troops in Iraq or making quilts for the children of inmates in prison.  Diane was a very loving and caring person who will be missed by those she knew and even those she had never met but helped through her loving, kindness and caring.

Diane is survived by her husband and soul mate of over 50 years Everett Langdell of Waterville, two sons, Martin Langdell and companion Lori Orost of Johnson and Steve Langdell and wife Wendy of Enosburg Falls.  Two daughters, Carmen Reed of Johnson and Kim Melonychuk and husband Aaron of Eugene, OR.  One Sister Linda Cutting and husband Duane of Waterville, One Brother-in-law Ellis Stockwell of Waterville.

Eight grandchildren Dylan, Brittni, Whitney, Brandon, Jennifer, Devyn, Brett, Brodie and special Aunt Francis Westman of Jeffersonville, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also predeceased by her son Jamie Langdell and her sister Nancy Stockwell.

There will be no public visiting hours.  A graveside memorial service with inurnment will be held on Tuesday October 16, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in Mountain View Cemetery in Waterville with the Reverend Peggy Tooker officiating.  Memorial contributions in Diane’s memory may be made to the Lamoille Area Cancer Network P.O. Box 38 Lake Elmore, VT 05657.  Arrangements are by John D. Workman, A. W. Rich Funeral Home – Fairfax Chapel 1176 Main St. Fairfax, VT 05454.[/b]
