Between 30 and 40 years ago I attended a wedding reception up at the Dairy Center between Enosburgh Falls and Samsonville.  It was a really thriving business with a number of activities and absolutely fantastic food.  A cousin of mine worked there as a waitress as she lived just up the road a ways in Samsonville.  The food was absolutely scrumptous with large portions and I thought then, this place is really going to take off.  It has just about everything.  I believe there was even a small private airport near by.

Unfortunately, over the years problems arose and this part and that part closed until there was very little left to my knowledge except a few motel rooms.  I don't know if they still had bowling and a dance hall there or not.  Now with the fire, who knows what will happen to what was once a thriving business with a great future??

They still do have bowling, and a restraunt that serves a great breakfast. The Hotel was a seperate building and I would not think it would case any problems with the rest of what is still there.

I grew up in Berkshire, lived in Enosburgh for awhile and still have family up there.

Good luck Lise, She is the owner in the picture.

An article in this week's County Courier talks about the possibility that the Dairy Center Fire could have been arson.

"Questions about the fire center on burns of unknown origin, sustained by an individual, possibly in connection with the early morning blaze, said Vermont State Police fire investigator Fred Cornell, of the St. Johnsbury barracks.

“That’s the one thing that we’re looking into is this person’s connection to the fire - or lack of connection,” Cornell said on Tuesday. The individual, whose name is not being released, was not staying at the Enosburgh motel, and it remains unclear why he was at the scene, Cornell said."
