Duprat making return to county as administrator

The school board in our neighboring town of Fairfield has announced their choice for principal of the Fairfield Elementary School.

After an extended search, Fairfax resident, Brian Duprat was chosen last week as the new Fairfield Center School principal, with his contract to begin on July 1,2005.

In March, Principal Richard Shanley's contract was renewed for 2004-05. A search committee was formed last year and in the spring of 2004, Lisa Delorme was chosen to be principal once Shanley retired this year.

In November, however, Delorme asked to be released from her contract and accepted the elementary school principal's position at Bellows Free Academy-Fairfax. The principal search committee was reconvened and chose Duprat, a former principal in Swanton and Highgate, who most recently was a school administrator in Essex.
