Francis H. “Bick” Russin

Underhill - Francis H. “Bick” Russin, age 86 passed away on Saturday March 29, 2008 at Fletcher Allen Health Center in Burlington.  Bick was born on October 23, 1921 in Underhill, VT son of the late Pearly and Alice (Pecor) Russin.  He married his soul mate Alice Hibbard on March 31, 1942 in Georgia, VT and shared 64 years of his life cultivating a loving and warm family till her passing on December 14, 2006.  Bick served his country well during WWII with the U. S. Army.  He had been employed with Essex Jct. as a maintenance worker for 27 years.  Bick was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and companion to his favorite beagle “Bridget”.  He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he shared laughter and love with.

Bick is survived by:  Four sons: David Russin and wife Patricia of Milton, Robert Russin and wife Sylvia of Underhill, Larry Russin and wife Beatrice of Westford and Roger Russin and wife Colleen of Cambridge.  Six Daughters:  Gloria Tracy and husband Stanley of Milton, Beverly Paradee of Jericho, Nancy Russin and Lionel Mathieu of Westford, Linda Mathieu of Westford, Kathy Aube and husband David of Hinesburg and Marilyn Mashia and husband Allen of Hinesburg. 

Twenty-Two Grandchildren, Thirty-Three Great Grandchildren, Four Great Great Grandchildren, his sister Cecile Russin of Winooski, two Sisters-in-law; Marie Salters of Underhill and Cecile Russin of Franklin.  A Brother-in-law Ed Edgerly of St. George.

He was also predeceased by Three Grandsons;  Brian Mathieu, Jamie Russin and Chad Russin, four Brothers and Six Sisters.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday April 1, 2008 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the A. W. Rich Funeral Home – Fairfax Chapel.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 2, 2008 at the United Church of Underhill at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Kevin Goldenbogen officiating.  Burial will be in the spring in the family lot in the Underhill Flats Cemetery, Underhill, VT at which time full military honors will be accorded this WWII veteran.  Memorial contributions may be made in Bick’s memory to the Humane Society of Chittenden County 142 Kindness Court South Burlington, VT 05403 or by visiting www.chittendenhumane.org or to the Visiting Nurse Association, Home Care or Hospice Program, 1110 Prim Road Suite # 1 Colchester, VT 05446.    Arrangements are by John D.
