Just About Everybody Was A Winner Thanks To Rick Hogle

When we arrived at the Senior Luncheon yesterday at the Fire Station, we found tickets with a number near each plate. None of us knew what they were for, but most guessed there would be some prizes.

Prizes there were indeed. Rick Hogle had some Easter Candy left and donated it to the Fairfax Friendly Senior Citizens. There were Easter Bunnies (some quite large), Easter Eggs and bags of Jelly Beans. A real nice variety. Elaine Kirkpatrick had set tickets near each plate and put a duplicate set in a paper bag to be drawn. I won one of the larger Easter Bunnies, so felt really lucky. There was enough candy there so that just about everyone in attendance, including our cooks Alberta Clokey and Marion Eastman won also.

We didn't have a large crowd there yesterday, but are in hopes, now that spring is here, that more will start coming. For those Seniors 55 years old, the cost of the meal is $4 and in cases where the senior is unable to drive themselves and a younger than 55 year old individual is with them, the younger person pays $5.

It makes for an excellent social meal and Marion & Alberta do a fantastic job.
