Diane Webb wanted to own and run a Bed and Breakfast her entire life. She bought a big house in Fairfax three years ago, trying to realize that dream.

But only two months later, she was told her dream wouldn't turn into reality.

"Were left with a house that we can't make a Bed and Breakfast with that we were told we were," Diane Webb said.

A zoning employee told Diane Webb that the town couldn't allocate water for her Bed and Breakfast.

"We did get sewer but there will never be water to give," Webb said.

For two years she tried to resolve the problem.

"The only way to fix the problem is for us to dig a well and have two separate systems going into the house. But then you get into state issues," Webb said.

During those two years, Webb and her husband spent seventy five thousand dollars repairing and renovating the house.

"Remodeled, rewired, and replumbed everything in the house. Everything has been redone. New kitchen, new bathrooms," Webb said.

With amazing views and five bedrooms and bathrooms, she was looking forward to her house being filed with guests from across the Country.

"Just a small bed and breakfast. That would have enabled me to stay home with my son and that just didn't happen," Webb said.

In the end, and after years of meetings, she realized her dream would have to put on hold.

"We invested every cent we had into it and now were just left owning it," Webb said.

There was a video on Fox 44 this morning where they interviewed Diane.  Apparently from what I could gather, there is not water available to increase allocations, however, there were sewer allocations and in order to have a Bed & Breakfast, they would have to drill a well.  I know that Summit Street and Paul Langelier both have drilled wells and I think they also have drilled a well up at the Old McArdle House.  I know that the town has attempted to drill additional wells, but has not had much luck on the land they have.
