I really had some high hopes last night when Red Sox batter J.D. Drew came up with the bases loaded.  I thought Yup!! they are going to do it again.  Oh Well!! There's always next year.

Readers,

Four McNalls were at the game last night, including current resident David.   David was the only one disappointed,  but he was still very impressed with the overall experience.  We were in the Right Field Stands,  standing most of the game,  which is what I perfer.  The Rays never ever quit, unreal story... Back to the real world today.

Note -- Our tickets last night were relatively cheap,  $30 plus surcharges --  I just checked the prices for the World Series -- get this one -- Tickets start at $ 100 plus surcharges,  my same seat as last night is runnning  $ 150 --   Needless to say, we will be watching from home --

Go Rays !! -- Mike McNall  -- BFA 1977

Mike, Maryann was talking with our nephey Spencer down in Winterhaven and I think he had mentioned along with the high price for the tickets, they were requiring you buy a season ticket for next year - Did I hear wrong??

Below is one thing I Googled:

2008 Postseason Ticket Package
Place a $750 deposit per seat toward a 2009 full season plan and receive the opportunity to purchase a postseason ticket package in the Upper Deck for $400.
Place a $1,000 deposit per seat toward 2009 full season tickets in any location other than the Upper Deck and receive the opportunity to purchase a postseason ticket package in the Outfield for $600.
Place a $2,000 deposit per seat toward 2009 full season tickets in a Lower Box, Lower Infield Box, Fieldside Box, Whitney Bank Club, or Home Plate Club location and receive the opportunity to purchase a postseason ticket package in the Lower Box for $900.

I'm still proud of the guys for Game 5.
Sorry, Mike, don't really care who wins.
I may watch some of it, but it won't be Must-See-TV.
Bob Ryan had a good article in the Sunday Boston Globe, how the Red Sox and Rays may be rivals for a while. AL East will be a tough division.

It's to bad Henry but I kind of feel that way to!!!!

Most people that know me know that I am a Die Hard Yankees fan, and I sure like seeing the Red Sox lose!!!
But now I'll admit I feel kind of let down, I have no personal intrest in the World Series this year.  Although I do believe that this isn't the last that we will see of the Tampa Bay D-Rays.  I think we all might have a new kid on the block to hate now insted of just my Yanks.  The Rays are a young team and seem to have a very promising future.

Henry,

Spencer is right.  It basically works like this -- If you wanted garanteed play-off tickets,  the Rays demanded you buy a package for 2009.  Minimum of 20 games --  Some Up side -- You were able to purchase play-off tickets and you get to pick the 20 games you wanted to attend in 2009  -- Down Side -->  Cost you money up-front -- Summarize :  If you wanted the right to buy Playoff tickets, to all play-off rounds including the World Series,  you had to purchase 20 seats per play-off ticket you were seeking.

This will be a great World Series for those who enjoy watching baseball !!!   Both teams have good starting pitching, strong bullpens and great hitters. They seem to be matched up in speed also, but the closer for the Phillies could be the difference....On the other hand, the 23 yr. old Price is a good one and his 97 mph lefthanded heater could stop Howard, Utley and crew.  Listening to the Sox radio network and reading the Gl;obe, Francona took the blame for having Pedroia run into a double play. Apparently Ortiz swung at ball four to protect Dustin......during the season, Francona admitted that he never made that call with Ortiz.....Garza blew it by him, and the rest was history !!!    No regrets though from Boston. I thought they went further then they should have......now, the two best MLB teams are playing.......without Manny !!!!   Dick Brown
