Channel 3 News http://www.wcax.com/ had a video and the following story on last night's 11 p.m. News:

The Spookiest House In Fairfax

Fairfax, Vermont - October 17, 2008

For some people it's Christmas that ignites their creativity, leading them to decorate with over-the-top displays on their lawn. For one Fairfax resident and his wife, it's Halloween that sparks their passion.

To say that Garry Rabideau likes Halloween might be an understatement. Starting each Oct. 1, Rabideau sets up an elaborate Halloween display surrounding his house. If it's creepy he probably has one, from gravestones bearing epitaphs for friends who haven't actually passed yet, to his prized hearse that he bought on Ebay.

Rabideau started off 15 years ago with about a dozen props. Each year the display has grown and so has the number of visitors stopping by to take a look.

"It's the kids, you know, they come up and you try not to scare them too much so you scare them a little bit and you see their reaction and they're having a good time and I had a good time when I was a kid and that's what I want to see," says Rabideau.

The spooky decorations aren't just limited to the outside of the house. If visitors want to get their treats they have to cross the threshold into the terrifying other world on the inside. After making their way through a smoky labyrinth, and past a butler serving up questionable entrees, the guests end their adventure in a narrow hallway with an oversized witch.

"Everybody's a little paranoid down there because they're afraid something's going to jump out in front of them," says Rabideau's wife, Dawn, of the experience.

The paranoia isn't limited to guests. Dawn says it sometimes gets to her as well.

"It takes a little bit of getting used to, especially when you get up in the middle of the night and have to go to the bathroom or something," she says.

She'll soon have more to get used to because Rabideau isn't finished decorating. He still has about a dozen items expected to arrive before Halloween.

So swing by 18 Cleary Rd., in Fairfax, for a Halloween adventure...if you dare.

Check out some photos I took of the Spookiest house in Fairfax.  Also, if you would like to go over and check out the great job that Garry & Dawn have done, there is no charge to do so.  It would be helpful to them however, if you could give them a call, so they can plan on you.  They are located at 18 Cleary Road in Fairfax and their phone number is 802 849-6213.  Click on the link below to view the photos:
