The little visiting nurse that comes a couple of times a week was telling me how her mother was being bothered by Moles and has spent probably a couple hundred dollars on stuff trying to kill or get rid of them.  Unless you have been bothered by Moles, you just don't know the frustration they can cause.

I told her I went through the same thing here and never found anything I could use to kill them.  I did find some stuff that would help me herd them off my property though and am fortunate that I can send them across the road in a pasture, rather than my neighbors lawns, which would not be a very neighborly thing to do.

A couple of years ago, I saw a real Mole Catcher and took some photos of him doing his job.  I had the photos up here on my forum.  I just saw three Mole Hills out here in my front lawn, so the Moles are back.  I sure wish my Mole Catcher would show up.  Click on the following link to watch him or her at work:

Henry, go after their food source instead of the moles. They are eating grubs etc in your lawn, I've had success using Milky Spore(ex. GrubEx..other name brands) Not sure what time of year is best for spreading this stuff but it does work. Will probably need to reapply in a few years  as I think once the grubs die out the bacteria used to kill them also dissappears. This stuff also helps stop skunks digging in lawn, my mom had problems with skunks, once we spread the spore down and eliminated the grubs the skunks stayed away too.

Do you know where Milky Spore can be obtained locally?  I wanted to use it around my raspberries to ward off the Japanese beetles but could not find any in St. A.  I must admit I did not look at J&L, which I should have because they seem to have everything!

Not sure who carries it up here, would think any hardware store might. When I bought some(several years ago) I think I got it from 4 Seasons Nursery in Williston. Was kind of pricey, but worth it in the long run. I'm guessing it might be harder to find at this time of year.
