ALBERT F. BURNOR ST. GEORGE — Albert F. Burnor, 68, a longtime resident of Williston died peacefully, with his loving family at his side on Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington after a short illness. Albert was born in Fairfax, on Dec. 14, 1939, the son of Alfred and Frances (Parah) Burnor. He was married in Swanton on Jan. 12, 1959, to Linda (Prevost) Burnor. Albert served his country with the United States Air Force. He served the state of Vermont as the 1st chief of the Bolton Fire Department, the 2nd assistant chief of the Williston Fire Department, and was a former selectman in the town of Bolton. He was employed for many years in the construction industry, retiring from Donald Cameron Construction, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Albert is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda Burnor; their children Lisa LeFreniere and her husband Gerald, and Carrie Heath; eight grandchildren Amy Tinker and husband Billy, Gerry LeFreniere and wife Candi, Christopher LeFreniere, Michael Graham, Scott Graham, Daniel Fortier and wife Dana, Jessie Fortier, and Alex Fortier; eight greatgrandchildren; two sisters Blanche Sorrell and husband Bert, and Gertrude Bates and husband Louis; two sisters-in-law Jean Goodroe, and Ann Bessette and husband Roger; and several nieces and nephews. Albert was predeceased by his daughter Thena Fortier on Aug. 18, 2005. Graveside services for Albert will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 10 a.m., in St. Albans Bay Cemetery. Following the services family and friends are invited to a gathering at the home of Lisa and Gerald LeFreniere on Duxbury Road in Bolton. Arrangements are with the LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 132 Main St., Winooski.
