WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM SUNDAY TO 1 PM EST
MONDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BURLINGTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER
STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW FOR THE ENTIRE NORTH COUNTRY...WHICH
IS IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM SUNDAY TO 1 PM EST MONDAY.

6 TO 10 INCHES OF SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED TO ACCUMULATE DURING THE
WARNING PERIOD...WITH LOCALIZED HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE.

LIGHT SNOW WILL BEGIN TO FALL EARLY SUNDAY MORNING...WORKING FROM
SOUTHWEST TO NORTHEAST ACROSS THE AREA. SNOWFALL WILL PICK UP IN
INTENSITY BY MIDDAY...BECOMING MODERATE TO HEAVY AT TIMES INTO THE
EVENING HOURS. AS THE SURFACE LOW BEGINS TO LIFT INTO THE CANADIAN
MARITIMES BY SUNDAY NIGHT...THE CORE OF HEAVIER PRECIPITATION WILL
SHIFT TO MOSTLY NORTHERN AREAS OF VERMONT AND NEW YORK. GUSTY WINDS
DURING THE STORM WILL ALSO RESULT IN CONSIDERABLE BLOWING AND
DRIFTING SNOW THROUGHOUT THE STORM AND INTO THE DAY MONDAY. THE STRONG
WINDS WILL SHIFT INTO THE NORTHWEST DURING MONDAY RESULTING IN
ADDED SNOWFALL ALONG THE WEST FACING SLOPES AND HIGHER ELEVATIONS
OF VERMONT AND NORTHERN NEW YORK. THESE AREAS WILL LIKELY SEE THE
HIGHEST SNOWFALL AMOUNTS. SNOW WILL TAPER OFF DURING MONDAY
AFTERNOON.

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER
CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW
ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. ONLY TRAVEL IN AN
EMERGENCY. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL...KEEP AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT...FOOD...
AND WATER IN YOUR VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY.
