Franklin West Chooses Chattman As New Superintendent

As Reported By The St. Albans Messenger Staff:

"FAIRFAX — Bruce Chattman has been named to replace Armando Vilaseca as superintendent of schools for the Franklin West Supervisory Union.

Chattman, former superintendent of Winooski and South Burlington schools, has been interim FWSU superintendent since Vilaseca was chosen state education commissioner in January.

The supervisory union on Friday issued a press release announcing Chattman's hiring under a two-year contract which the new superintendent agreed to on Feb. 4.

According to a press release issued by FWSU, Chattman has an extensive background in education.

"Franklin West is confident that Mr. Chattman's vast administrative experience and current involvement in the transition will provide continuity and stability for the supervisory union over the next few years," said the written statement."

FWSU is comprised of Fairfax, Fletcher and Georgia.
