Georgia Youth Center Grand Opening May 16
2nd Annual Walkathon
The Jimmy Messier Memorial Youth (JMMY) Center at Georgia Plain will hold its 2nd Annual Walkathon fundraiser and Grand Opening on Saturday, May 16, 2009. Walkers are needed to help raise funds for the Phase II renovation of the one room school house portion of the youth center.
Registration for the walkathon will be from 8-9 a.m. at the Georgia Methodist Church with the walk-a-thon starting at 9 a.m. The walk is approximately 3 1/2 miles, starting at the Georgia Methodist Church and ending at the Youth Center in Georgia Plain. Please join us for this great community event.
After the walk, there will be a Grand Opening and ribbon cutting at 11:30 a.m. with a community barbecue and open house to follow. The JMMY Center will be open until 4:00 p.m. for visitors. The JMMY Center committee thanks all who have been so generous in supporting this important community resource and cordially invites all to join us in the celebration. Bring the whole family!
