A heated argument early Monday morning has landed an Underhill man behind bars.
Vermont State Police say 45-year-old James Chicoine assaulted a woman at their residence on Route 15 in Underhill. The woman left the house with a friend after sustaining broken ribs in the assault. A short time later, Chicoine called 911, saying he'd set the house on fire and couldn't breath. He put the fire out, but not before it caused some light damage. Chicoine will be in court on Tuesday on multiple charges including arson. He's being held for lack of bail.
