A feisty, faithful fan of Burlington schoolchildren and Lawrence Barnes elementary passed away over the weekend and will be honored today with a reception at the school from 3 to 5 p.m.
Parker grew up in Fairfax as Melissa Zeno and graduated from Bellows Free Academy-Fairfax. She played soccer and softball and remained keen about sports. "She wore a Red Sox shirt pretty much seven days a week," recalled Brian Pine, a Barnes parent and president and coach of the Center City Little League in Burlington.
