Elizabeth J. “Betty” (Hubbell) Rye

Bakersfield-Elizabeth June “Betty” (Hubbell) Rye age 83 passed away at her home on Sunday January 31, 2010 with her loving family by her side. Betty was born in Burlington on Nov. 5, 1926 daughter of the late Daniel and Helena (Dudley) Hubbell. She married the love of her life Henry “Hank” Rye on September 4, 1949 in Burlington and together they celebrated their 6Oth wedding anniversary with a party at their home this past September. Her delightful nature and personality will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband Henry “Hank” Rye of Bakersfield, Two Daughters:  Edna May Cole and husband Stanley of Barre;  Martha Jane Gillilan of Fletcher;  Two Grandchildren:  Harold Wright Jr. and wife Lisa;  Margaret Cole;  Four Great Grandchildren:  Bruce and Sage Cole;  Abigail and Hunter Wright;  Two Step Great Grandchildren:  Emily and Daniel Narsh;  Her cousin Hazel Lawrence of Connecticut.

She was also predeceased by her son in law Raymond Gillilan on December 22, 2008 and an infant grandson.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to family friends:  Rod and Millie Juckett of Waterville and Lesley Combs of Georgia
