Just heard downtown area, Minors, J&L, the daycare, all dont have power this morning.  Not sure whats going on, but I'm guessing if the outage is hitting Henry, this is the reason we arent hearing about it.  I have power here down off of Shepardsons Hollow Rd.  Time will tell I guess

we have power here on Megan Road.  but we have VT Coop. Is there school today? Is it open? Some one said that a power line is down in town and the power company said it will be back up at 9:00

I am on Vt Electric Coop and have not lost power - I was unaware of it until I just read this.  If anybody hears what happened, let us know.  That is kind of a rarity for that area.

I remember years ago Don Boutin who used to own a gas station right next door to Steeple Market bought a little gasoline engine I had and hooked it up to one of his gas pumps to pump gas during a power outage.  Not sure that was the safest setup in the world, but didn't give a thought about it then.  He was the only person in Fairfax able to pump gas.

Around 6:20 am this morning a line came down (not sure why) on main street right by Hunt Street. I think it left most of the village without power. CVPS was on scene by 7am

...and the North end of town as well.  I had to get dressed in the dark and now my socks don't match. :(

Hit Westford too around 6.  Had to get the generator running to finish milking the cows.

The school does have a generator with much thanks to Ed Nuttal when he was on the selectboard. The generator however cannot restore power to the "old" school and the upstairs addition above the library. The generator was obtained from a grant which made the school an emergency shelter in case of ice storms etc... etc... Their was a question about school being called but cvps assured us that the power would be restored in 1 to 2 hours. 1 hour 50 minutes it took them. I was impressed. Thanks Ed. The generator works fine.
