THE OLYMPICS
Great. Now what am I going to do?

This happens every major world sporting event. The Olympics. The World Cup. I get wrapped up in it all and suddenly it's over, and like an addict, I go through immense withdrawl.
I want to watch some more curling.
Out front looks empty without the flags and the torch.
Truth be told, I was starting to tire of the Canadian national anthem. Even though I was dissapointed when the Canadian womens team lost the curling final.
You have to admit, this was Canada's 1980. This was their miracle. Maybe they didn't "Own the Podium", by taking the most medals, but they certainly got their share. Going to www.newseum.org and seeing the daily front pages out of Canada was a real treat. Talk about a country united. A lot of the US papers were more interested in their own back yard, than what was going on in Vancouver. But up north, they were celebrating every medal with pictures of their athletes.
To me, I was more disappointed the womens hockey team lost, than I was the mens team. Don Cherry said it best. Canada's loss to the US was the best thing to happen to them, because they had to fight the rest of the way.
It was a blast, these last two weeks. I am really proud of all the US athletes for what they were able to accomplish. Bode Miller finally winning. A bobsled gold medal. Nordic medals. Shaun White. Still think the kid's insane.
Congratulations one and all.

Well Mike you will just have to recruit some leprechauns to make a lighted shamrock we can see in your front yard! The other decorations you've put out have been great,  so you can start with shamrocks, daffodil days are coming, Easter eggs, tulips.... you can go on forever!
